Hillingdon (Under Construction)

Challenge

The brief was to convert a crowded 3 bedroom semi detached house into a home to accommodate a grown up family. There needed to be individual spaces as well as large open plan family spaces. The owners wanted to create an extra bathroom as well as a large kitchen/ dining space for entertaining which was open to the garden and filled with natural light. The design also needed to allow for the mix of original construction materials with new ones to give a contemporary feel.

Solution

A full width single story extension was created across the back of the house to create the larger kitchen dining area and upstairs over part of this extension a new master bedroom with ensuite was created. This allowed for a new large family bathroom with the addition of exquisite bathroom fittings. The new design gives a contemporary boutique feel to the house with a beautifully designed kitchen diner as well as a study area.

The careful inclusion of space saving devices increase the feeling of space in the house. These include pocket doors, an under stairs laundry and a vaulted ceiling in the master bedroom to create the illusion of space within the modest footprint.

Careful use of colours and contemporary finishes create an on trend environment for the family to enjoy.
